The Mexico is a state in North America bordering on the north with the USA, in the southeast – with Belize and Guatemala, it is washed by the waters of the Gulf of California (Pacific), the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.
Mexico owns some islands in the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean.
Most of the country is occupied by ridges of the Mexican Highlands, the Sierra Madre and the Transverse Volcanic Sierra with some active volcanoes (about 350), including the highest point of the country – Orizaba (5700 m), Popocatepetl – (5452 m), etc. Volcanic activity is quite high, and earthquakes are also frequent.

The climate of Mexico is affected by coastal waters and sharp differences in altitude. In the Mexican Highlands, it is usually cooler than on the coast, where the air temperature does not fall below + 20C even in winter. In the northern part of Mexico in the winter there is a slight snow. The climate of the Yucatan peninsula is tropical. At resorts, the temperature is from + 22C (winter) to 35C (in summer). The average air temperature in the flat resorts is + 26C, the water temperature + 22C. As in most other tropical countries, Mexico has two main seasons: the rainy season (June to October) and the dry season (November to May).
