Czech Republic Vacation

The Czech Republic is located in the heart of Europe and borders with Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia. The territory of the republic is almost 79,000 square meters and combines the historical regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The capital is Prague, the largest city in the country. Most of the settlements are small. From the large cities of Brno, Pilsen, Ceske Budejovice, Olomouc, Hradec Králové and Ostrava. The mosaic of the geological structure determined the diversity of Czech minerals. Even in the Middle Ages, silver mines enjoyed wide popularity here. There are deposits of coal, iron ore. Of great importance are the deposits of glass sands used in the manufacture of the famous Czech glass and crystal. Thanks to the sources of medicinal mineral waters, the system of world-famous resorts is developed. The country’s landscape is dominated by highlands and medium mountains – the Czech Massif, bordered by the ridges of Šumava, the Bohemian Forest, the Krkonoše Mountains and the Bohemian-Moravian Upland. The largest river is the Vltava, 440 km long. The Czech Republic is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, which is a watershed between the Elbe and the Danube. Elba – it’s Laba – flows through the Czech Republic, other large rivers – Morava, Odra – the Oder, – Ohře, Strela and Berunka. The landscapes of the Czech Republic are amazing in their beauty and diversity. Wide valleys with a dense network of rivers and lakes are replaced by dense forests, hills and mountain ranges that preserve the age-old freshness and coolness of the stalactite caves. It is here that the healing springs of the most popular European resorts – Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně and Františkovy Lázně – form the “golden triangle of Czech health”.

Whirlwind Eastern Europe: Pilsner, picturesque castles and pure fun

I spent New Year’s exploring Prague and Budapest and found them not only beautiful but also delicious and fun. Both are so different from the other. In Prague you’ll want to wander around the fairy-tale like streets and sip on some Czech beer. In Budapest you’ll have to visit the market for hearty Hungarian fare to soak up last night’s drinks at the city’s hip “...
