Indonesia Vacation

The Republic of Indonesia is a state in South-East Asia, on the islands of the Malay Archipelago and the western part of Fr. New Guinea (Irian Jaya). It borders with Malaysia, Papua New Guinea. Indonesia has 18,108 islands, of which about 1,000 have a permanent population. Mountains occupy more than half of the territory of Indonesia. The highest point of the country – Mount Jaya (5029 m) is on the island of New Guinea. There are about 400 volcanoes in total, 80 of which are active. Especially many volcanoes on the island of Java, and the highest of the active volcanoes, Kerinchi (height – 3800 m), is located in Sumatra. Moist tropical forests cover about a third of the country’s territory.

Indonesia Weather

The climate is equatorial; there is no clear change of seasons. In the country two seasons of precipitation – in April and in November. Bali has a tropical climate, and good sunny weather persists all year round. All the year round, the air temperature in Indonesia does not change, amounting to 25-27C on the plains; the water temperature in the seas does not drop below 27C. In the mountains, it is cooler, and above 1500 m even frosts occur. Short, but abundant rains are almost daily, and in Bogor on Island. The number of thunderstorm days is the highest in the world – 322. True, in the eastern part of Java and the Lesser Sunda Islands, dry (May-October) and wet seasons are distinguished.
